General Information

These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings made with The Westings, whether made directly through our website, by phone, by email, or through a third-party booking platform. By making a reservation with us, you agree to be bound by these terms.

The Westings Inn, Wormadale, Whiteness, Shetland, ZE2 9LJ.

Reservations & Payments

All reservations are subject to availability and confirmation. Prices displayed at the time of booking may vary depending on season, room type, and length of stay.

Full payment is required in advance to secure your booking. Bookings are not confirmed until payment has been received in full.

Cancellation Policy

Bookings can be cancelled or amended free of charge up to 28 days before the arrival date.

Cancellations, amendments, or no-shows within 28 days of the arrival date are non-refundable, and the full booking amount will be charged.

We recommend guests take out appropriate travel insurance to cover any changes to their travel plans.

Check-In & Check-Out

Check-in: from 15:00

Check-out: by 11:00

Early check-in or late check-out may be available on request and is subject to availability. Please contact us in advance if you’d like to arrange this.

Breakfast & Dining

A continental and cooked breakfast is included free of charge for all Bed & Breakfast room bookings.

For guests staying in our self-catering glamping pods, breakfast is available at an additional cost and must be arranged in advance.

We do not currently offer an evening dining service. Guests are welcome to visit our café bar next door, or make use of self-catering facilities where provided.

Guest Responsibilities & Damage

Guests are expected to treat our rooms, pods, grounds, and facilities with care and respect throughout their stay.

Guests are liable for any loss or damage caused to the property, its fixtures, fittings, furnishings, or equipment during their stay, whether caused by themselves, members of their party, or their visitors. This includes accidental, negligent, or intentional damage. The cost of repair, replacement, or additional cleaning will be charged to the guest.

We ask that any damage or breakages are reported to us as soon as possible.

Parking

Car parking is available on site for the use of guests. Vehicles and their contents are left at the owner’s own risk. The Westings does not accept liability for any loss, theft, or damage to vehicles or their contents while parked on our premises, howsoever caused.

Limitation of Liability

The Westings is not liable for any loss, cost, or inconvenience arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to flight or ferry cancellations, delays, adverse weather conditions, or other transport disruption affecting your journey to or from Shetland.

We recommend building flexibility into your travel plans where possible and taking out appropriate travel insurance.

Except where required by law, The Westings’ liability to any guest is limited to the value of the booking. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

Website Usage

All website content, including text, images, branding, and design elements, is the property of The Westings and may not be copied or reused without permission.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time you make your booking will apply to that booking. Continued use of our website following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
